“This new chapter offers a unique platform to communicate our design philosophy within the vibrant, creative landscape of Melbourne,” shared Daniel Boddam, the Studio Director and Founder. “We envisioned a serene, inviting space where visitors can immerse themselves in our core values—simplicity, originality, relationships, and respect—and appreciate our commitment to artisanal quality.”
Visitors will be privy to a personalised, immersive experience, guided through the narrative that shapes each design piece, exploring materials, finishes, and customisation options. The gallery’s layout will be refreshed quarterly, offering varying glimpses into the studio's broad catalogue, punctuated by its most recent releases, including the Leaf Sconce, Hinterland Stools, and Booham Chairs. A collection of art and décor, sourced from like-minded artists and craftsmen, will complement the carefully selected ensemble of furniture and lighting, forming a congruous display of design, craft, and nature.
Coinciding with the opening, the studio's latest launch, the Prism collection, explores the mystique of sacred geometry, morphing prisms into organic, crystalline forms. The collection, featuring an array of tables in varying shapes and sustainably sourced timber types, captivates with its bold silhouettes and evocative materiality.
Since its inception in 2013, Daniel Boddam Studio, steeped in its "poetry of reduction" philosophy, has pioneered a design approach that promotes tranquillity, fosters human connection, and celebrates artisanal craftsmanship.
