Cloud Residence by FURNISHD. Takes the concept of blurring the inside and out to a whole other level, creating a sky sanctuary that floats high above the Melbourne CBD. This luxurious apartment is characterised by a serene commitment to minimalism, sculptural artistry and an appreciation to its elevated perspective.

Cloud Residence boasts the title of one of Australia's highest residences and draws inspiration heavily from its position to inform the colour and materiality palette of the home, as well as its layout. The golden sunlight that pours through the apartments glass walls becomes the homes most significant material, as it transforms materials, casts shadows and immerses the interiors in warm, golden light every evening.

Arguably, no home is more greatly influenced than its environment than Cloud Residence. Floating far above Melbourne, atmosphere and design meet, creating a home that is calm, elevated, and reflective of its dream-like surrounds. Framed by floor-to-ceiling glass, the home instantly blurs the lines between interior and exterior, inviting golden sunlight and airy clouds into the material tapestry of the home. The space imitates the sensation of floating above the home, and is grounded through the addition of earthy, robust materials, such as a sculptural handmade walnut dining table by Wei Wu for Studio BASE.

Clouds become a repeated motif throughout home, as furnishings adopt soft, cloud-like structures in rooms such as the living room, whilst an impressive collection of abstract artwork and curated homewares add intrigue and interest to the home, creating a deep sense of intimacy, textured and lived-in appeal that can be difficult alongside the grandeur of the residences surrounds.

Bedrooms infuse themes of simplicity and calm into their design, opting for minimalistic and refined furnishings which support the airy, light aesthetic elsewhere in the home. Carefully layered textiles and considered furniture choices evoking a sense of comfort and escape, creating a space that feels like an otherworldly retreat, perched in the sky.

The master suite adopts a rich, textured upholstery for the bedhead, pairing the deep tones with soft, layered bedding in muted, serene tones. The spaces blends neutral tones, plush textures, and subtle metallic accents in furnishings to create a tactility and warmth. This layered but refined approach creates interiors that are expressive and eclectic, without overwhelming, allowing the skyline to remain the key feature in the space.

Bedrooms convey the theme of calm, restful simplicity through the layering of textiles and considered furniture choices, which add detailing and intrigue to the space whilst remaining overwhelming minimalistic. These spaces walk the line between intimacy and openness, blending light, materiality and sculptural elegance to create a home that is elevated through form and grounded through its humility and warmth.
