Crete Studio is the innovative and inspiring project from the minds of Nick and Sarah Wilson, the creative duo pushing the boundaries of concrete lighting design. They transform concrete into creative and robust lighting solutions, accentuating spaces with warmth and texture. Every Crete Studio product is unique and individualistic in it's texture and finish, with marbling and crevices varying between every light as a result of their handcrafted production. Each light becomes an intentional accent in your space, balancing its natural and robust materiality with a soft and warm aesthetic that's crafted with love.

In a world dominated by neutral tones and minimalistic aesthetics, Crete Studio sets out to inject creativity and individuality into the current market gap. Each lighting feature is constructed from Glass Fibre Australian Concrete and is unique, with distinctive marbling, texture and crevices varying from each and every product. Crete Studio leans into the use of organic silhouettes, raw textures and vibrant colours to transform everyday lighting into intentional accents and features in your home, reconstructing everyday design features into one-off pieces imbued with fun and individuality. The highest level of craftsmanship ensures each and every Crete Studio light will endure and age elegantly and timelessly in your home.

Every light is handcrafted in Crete Studio's Northern River's Studio, under the watchful eye of Nick and Sarah. Nick oversees the entire production process, utilising his 20 years of experience as a qualified electrician to ensure quality crafting and safe installation, whilst Sarah is responsible for applying her keen design sense to each new design. Crete Studio represents the couple's commitment to quality and unique artistry - a labour of love which translates effortlessly into both functional and unique lighting solutions for each and every space.

Constructed from durable Australian concrete - a material known for its strength and longevity - all Crete Studio creations are suited to a variety of application and locations. Each creation is infused with rich iron oxides, producing bright and saturated hues that retain their vibrancy over time, compared to surface glazes which are prone to fading. The surfaces of these creations are easy to clean and can easily withstand daily wear, tear and ageing. As each Crete Studio product is handcrafted with high attention-to-detail, every piece is unique in its texture, marbling and crevices - deviating from the sea of mass-produced fixtures currently flooding the market. These designs differ as they showcase the natural and raw beauty of its materiality.

The manufacturing process begins by blending concrete with colour oxides, cold water and ice, before glass fibres are added to ensure the strength and durability of the finished fixtures. Custom moulds are filled to create Crete Studio's signature organic curves and robust silhouettes, which are then wrapped in plastic and blankets to set. Once set, all fixtures are de-moulded and left to set again on setting racks for seven days, before being cleaned and sealed with a premium finish for beauty that will endure for years to come. Each piece is finalised with fittings and cable by Nick himself, so that it is now ready to illuminate your space.
