Over the course of 35 years, three countries and name changes, Seena (formerly Tasman Eco) has evolved to meet the shifting demands of parents, promising quality product and family-grown quality and customer service. After opening a baby department store, Steve Cenatiempo discovered his passion for providing quality products for growing families and ensuring family-grown customer service. The business flourished, supported by every generation of Steve's family, but it became clear that there was a significant gap between the products families desired and what was available on the market. So, Steve created his own range of nursery homewares, designing, constructing and assembling everything in-house.

Manufacturing was moved to New Zealand for a period, and Steve renamed the business to Tasman Eco as a nod to the sea between the nations. In 2021, Tasman Eco launched its e-commerce store, meeting demands for direct to customer services. Then, in 2025, Steve and his family decided it was time to say goodbye to their baby years and rebrand Tasman Eco as Seena - a name that pays homage to their family surname.
The shift represents the families and businesses commitment to ensuring the quality product and experiences offered to their customers carries on to the next generation of the brand. However, despite a new name, the heart of the business remains the same - family-owned, proudly and deeply Australian and focused on creating beautiful, sustainable baby furniture.

Seena is exemplifying this continued commitment to eco-friendly, unique baby furniture through their latest collaboration with Defy. As parents themselves, the relationship between Defy and Seena was inevitable. In line with Seena's move back to manufacturing in Australia after 15 years abroad, local production meant that Defy and Seena were able to test and prototype, continuously improving the design.
The Archie cot represents a new era of sustainable, nursery manufacturing, as the first-of-its-kind piece made entirely from 100% recycled plastic. The plastic is coursed locally in Australia, carefully chosen for its properties, specifically valuable to its use as a cot. All plastic is chemically tested to ensure it is BPE free and meets all Australian standards.

The plastic sheets used to construct the cot are handmade, created by the blending of different coloured plastics. For this reason, no two cots will ever be the same, as different percentages of colours are mixed to create hues and shades that are unique to every piece.
Coming from parental backgrounds, both Seena and Defy understand how tedious and frustrating assembly and pack-down can be. To ease this crucial step, Seena and Defy have designed the Archie Cot with simplicity in mind - think, big Lego that easily snaps together. The plastic pieces feature large cut outs so that pieces can slot in together and make assembly stress-free.

The Archie Cot is the love child of Seena x Defy; designed from recycled plastics and with ease of assembly in mind. As the first-of-its-kind recycled plastic cot, available in one-off, unique shades, it symbolises Seena’s renaming but continued brand commitment to ensuring quality, sustainable nursery options. Locally designed, manufactured and loved, Seena x Defy’s Archie Cot is perfect for your little one.
