Outdoor Collection by Roche Bobois

Roche Bobois, a world-renowned French luxury furniture brand, was founded in 1960 through the collaboration of two families, the Roches and the Chouchans. Both had well-established furniture businesses in Paris before they met at a furniture fair in Copenhagen. Their shared vision of introducing Scandinavian designs to the Parisian market led to their partnership, finally creating what is presently known as Roche Bobois.

Roche's original strategy of distributing contemporary furniture, initially inspired by Bauhaus and French designers, has become their signature over the years. Today, the brand collaborates with top designers and artists, blending art, fashion, and interior design into its furniture creations.

Roche Bobois opened their first Australian showroom in Roseville, Sydney last year. The brand's approach is defined by its focus on combining modern technology with artisanal techniques merging beauty, comfort, and functionality. Working closely with renowned designers and artists such as Marcel Wanders, Kenzo Takada, Ora Ito, Sacha Lakic, Christophe Delcourt, Stephen Burks and Joana Vasconcelos and with Haute Couture fashion houses such as Jean Paul Gaultier & Missoni, Roche Bobois offers a broad range of exclusive indoor and outdoor designs, manufactured with a high level of customisation in small European workshops.

Roche Bobois’ Summer Outdoor Collection 2024 is crafted with high-quality materials, intertwined with a commitment to environmental responsibility. Since 2005, the brand has been dedicated to an environmental conscious approach, leading into an eco-design strategy that now influences every step of its value chain - from design and manufacturing to transport, logistics, and recycling.

Embodying the French art de vivre, or the "art of living," a cultural philosophy that appreciates beauty, pleasure, and quality in every aspect. Roche Bobois' Outdoor Collection incorporates this balanced, thoughtful, and elegant approach into their designs, bold yet effortless.

One of the stand out pieces in Roche Bobois' outdoor collection is the Mah Jong Outdoor range. Originally designed by Hans Hopfer in 1971, the outdoor sofa is a playful and colourful seating system. Its modular structure can be arranged in versatile configurations making it highly adaptable to different outdoor spaces. To create exclusive fabrics for the Mah Jong Outdoor range, Roche Bobois has partnered with renowned fashion houses such as Missoni and Jean Paul Gaultier.

Designed by artist Joana Vasconcelos, Roche Bobois introduces the Bombom Outdoor collection. Defined by its rounded shapes, soft curves, and vibrant colours, Bombom Outdoor was sculpted with the approach to blend the lines between art and function. With an emphasis on comfort and creativity, these pieces invite to relax and explore the imagination.

Another standout in the outdoor collection is the Temps Calme Outdoor range, designed by Philippe Bouix. In contrast to the more playful designs, this collection offers a minimalist and serene approach to outdoor furniture. It includes modular sofas and lounge chairs with sleek lines, neutral tones, and a refined aesthetic. This collection provides flexibility to suit various outdoor spaces, from expansive terraces to intimate gardens. Like all pieces in Roche Bobois’ Outdoor Collection, Temps Calme Outdoor range utilises weather-resistant materials, ensuring lasting durability in the Australian conditions.
