Linear Standard

Establishing Linear Standard was inspired by a passion for well-designed and reasonably priced architectural and interior wares, combined with the founding partners' expertise in construction and interior architecture. The company was founded to fill the gap in the local fittings and fixtures market.

Their Mornington-based showroom provides an insight into their thoughtfully curated and refined collection of architectural hardware including cabinetry handles, hooks, desk accessories, door stops and bathroom accessories. Linear Standard's extensive range of products is designed to enhance residential settings with elegance and functionality.

Designed by the Melbourne-based interior design practice CJH Studio, Linear Standard's showroom incorporates natural materials and soft forms. The use of materiality and thoughtfully integrated product elements communicates an inviting yet minimal approach to design. Focusing on custom detailing, the space opens into a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Balancing functionality and the individuality of Linear Standard, the showroom showcases meticulously handcrafted products and encourages tactile interaction with the pieces.

With some of their products locally made, Linear Standard is deeply committed to supporting local manufacturers and makers, recognising the importance of fostering community and sustainability within the design industry. This approach ensures that their products are of the highest quality, crafted with care and precision, and embodying the unique character and expertise of the local talent.

"We go above and beyond to ensure that each product is crafted with the utmost attention to detail and care, resulting in the highest quality possible."

Notable features of this locally crafted design include Veil Stone, an aesthetically refined solution for cable organising that adds a touch of luxury. Designed and hand crafted in Melbourne, the carefully selected range of natural stones can be interchanged with any chosen timber flange, offering a sleek upgrade to cable outlets. It features a solid American Oak outer flange, available in two finishes: clear lacquer or raw finish, which can be stained to match your preference.

Another standout is the Murray Hooks, characterised by soft lines and a refined profile that provide a calm and natural aesthetic with a touch of character. These turned solid timber hooks are made by local makers from American Oak, available in various stain finishes, or can be supplied raw, allowing you to finish with your choice of stain or lacquer.
